I have been thinking about the Daniel Pelka case and it got me thinking about the death penalty. Should it be brought in for certain cases. I really don't have a problem with it for child killers and maybe serial killers. Or is a "life" sentence better, 30 yrs plus.

I can see lots of pros but not many cons.

Oh well, it's been a while since we had one of these riveting threads.
Personally I reckon the biggest con is that you can't bring back someone who was wrongly executed.
So anyone in favour should choose an innocent family member to be the first to go, just so they know how the families really feel.
That, and the fact that civilised societies don't put themselves on the same moral footing as killers.
Ok - let the bloodthirsty posse vent their collective spleens...

bit early on a sat morning for this discussion mark mate most of the outraged right sided cellerites will still be in bedafter friday night while us loony lefties are doing exactly the same. Expect it to go to 10 pages and several arguments just after midday when everyone up

And no we should'nt bring it back

Yes. I agree on the death penalty for cases like this.

It obvious we need at least one to gauge public opinion on the matter, afterall, we live in a democracy and public opinion is where its at.

No. There are no "pros" only "cons".
Is the correct answer

Lets murder someone who has murdered someone
That sounds like a good idea.

What is worse though, 30 yrs in prison with a murder on your conscience or not as the case may be or a few years inside waiting for a a date when you die.
