December 6th 1969 My earliest City memory. Whats your's?

City won 4-0 at Maine Road against West Ham.

I had been to games before that but don't remember them, I remember this one because my Grandad pointed out Bobby Moore and told me not to forget him as he was captain when England won the World Cup, i was only 4 years old.

We went on to win a double that season as well, the first time an English club had won two cups in one season.

What is your earliest City memory?

I am sure somebody must have seen Peter Doherty, my grandad loved him,
My late elder brother saw Doherty and reckoned he was incomparable - skill, workrate, finishing, the lot.
He was also Joe Mercer's favourite player and Joe wasn't a bad judge.

Peter Doherty was one of my dads favourite players along with Roy Paul
My late old man always said Doherty was the best he'd seen.

Vaguely remember my first game at home to Burnley in 67. Think we won 4-2.

I do remember my dad and his mate going mental and jumping round the living room when Neil Young scored against Leicester in the Final.

I think our allocation was 16,000 against Leicester in 1969. Although me and my dad went to every home game almost all cup games Home and away, loads of reserve and youth game we struggled to get a ticket. We ended up getting 1 from a friends brother who was on the coaching staff at Boro the robbing bastard,

It was my 1st final I`ve only missed 2 Wembley trips since. United in the semi I was in Vegas and against Villa I was ill.

My Dad took me to Oldham and Bolton during the foot and mouth outbreak in 1969 (I think), he was a Saturday "settler" at a Bookies and all Horse Racing was off so he was laid off. However neither Bolton or Oldham floated my boat, it all changed when my mate's dad took us to City v Wigan (ironically), I was mesmerised by the ground, the supporters and just the vibe, it was love at first sight and my greatest day was Agueroooooooo, nothing will ever beat that, apologies to Mrs H, my wedding day doesn't come close!!
