Arsenal have not won the league for 20 years. So it depends on what you mean by big club.

If you are talking historical before 92 then what about Nottingham Forrest for example or Aston Villa Are they not big clubs?

Currently City and Maybe Liverpool could claim big club title based on the silverware won over the last ten years.

Arsenal are just another club with money due to the premier leagues commercial power. I don’t understand the argument of big club.

By your logic, every team that has won in the past is a big club.

Win an enormous amount of trophies yet are constantly called a small club. Our domestic & global fan base and success make us the very definition of a huge football club

Glad we’ve seen sense on the Rice transfer. Realistically a fair offer would have been around 40-50 million. Arsenal getting absolutely rinsed on this one.

He’s a decent hard working midfielder nowhere near a world class player. He may go onto be one and may have benefited hugely working with Pep but we’ll never know.

I worry about what our plan C is after Bellingham and Rice.

We talk about Txiki finding Dias, but he also brought in Gomez as a plan B and he was miles off it.

As much as I think Gomez is a very rough diamond, to be sure, I don’t think his transfer to us ended up being a problem.

He filled a role and did his part in us winning a treble.

Not sure what more anyone would want from a signing.

Nah, I think generally speaking, there are 3-4 transcendent players around and about 50 - 60 top players. Outside of those 3- 4 players, you should simply have a limit for everyone else

True, Pep's system makes players better, but on the flips side is even more important to understand: Paying more for player X, doesn't improve player X. Just makes it that you've paid more.

People too often confuse the price of a player going up for the player being better. This is not the case and has never been.

The money doesn't bother me, we could afford it. It's more telling that we don't want to cough up. That would suggest there are other irons in the fire, because if we thought Rice was the primary target, of such importance to our plans and his club is selling, we'd have no issue meeting the price tag

Either that or we've been directly told Rice wants Arsenal not us, either way we'll have our own cunning plans and these usually turn out pretty well.

Hard to shake the media driven narrative, after taking a very impressive 30K fans to Istanbul they said yes ‘City took a lot of fans but they barely celebrated the goal or the win’. United and Liverpool apart I would stand our support against any other fan base in England

So are the ideas he was ridiculing. Both are absurd. We clearly wanted him, but valued him at a certain price or less. Once Arsenal bid above our valuation we bowed out.
