Dedryk Boyata

Makes a solid fourth CB behind Kolo. Hope the kid gets a chance to impress, he did a lot better than Savic and with Micah as another CB option, Savic should be the player moving out one way or another freeing up the path for another kid to come through.

He is more versatile than Savic as he can play CB and can fill in at RB upon request. He's a far better and more reliable defender than Savic and I'd be more confident if he was back-up than a player who cost us against Liverpool fairly badly.

I thought he played well when given the chance (except for that sending off) considering his age and experience.

I understand the reason behind loaning out players but I can't help think that he would learn so much more from training with vinny, lescot, kolo and Richards. They are all class and top blokes that he would benefit from being around.

Back in the team!

Still remember he was put in the team once to defend against Drogba, did it brilliantly.

Savic is a far superior player to Dedryk. Technically, with the ball at his feet, he is on a different planet.
Okay, he made a couple of bad errors when the crowd were on his back, but what young centre half — Dedryk included — hasn't done the same?
In fact, Lescott made an identical error against QPR to the one Savic did against Tottenham. The penalty he gave away in the semi-final against Liverpool? See Nigel against the rags in the FA Cup third round.
These are human beings we are talking about. They will make mistakes.
It cracks me up when I see the double standards on here sometimes. Get rid of Savic for making similar mistakes to experienced internationals.
Personally, I think Savic could play as a defensive midfielder. His passing is certainly good enough to play there. Show some patience and support the lad. Mancini certainly rates him

Fair comment. Personally I would like to see Savic, Boyota and Rekik kept on.

True. What Savic needs is experience and a little bit more confidence. Send him out on loan, would do him wonders.

Completely disagree I don't know where people get this idea that Savic is so good technically he had one good game vs Munich when it was a meaningless game for them. The games he played apart from that, maybe the wolves cc game and a few cameos when we were winning easily he's been shocking. Players make mistakes but Savic has made so many its untrue, against QPR away he was completely outplayed by bloody Helgursen, against spurs he made 2 massive errors and he was lucky Defoe missed an open net, against Liverpol he was subbed in the first half of the away leg, let Carrol through and gave a penalty away in the home leg. Hes made many more errors as well. Contrast this to Boyata whose 2nd match I think was a derby match in the CC semis from what I remember he wasn't great but he had a solid game and did the same at OT. Apart from getting sent off vs Arsenal he has really never made any fatal mistakes and was our best player against Chelsea last season when he played RB and looked very classy on the ball.

I don't think Boyata is a world beater or will become an amazing defender but he is better than Savic, I would loan Savic out next season and give Boyata a squad role and maybe loan him out in January if hes not getting enough games.

The thing that really grates me iS that we had our own version of Wes brown in some ways in Nedum he was home grown and loved the club he was also not spectacular but a solid player I would have much preferred to keep him than pay 6 million for savic. People go on about the soccer am fiasco but come on look what Tevez and Balo do and Mancini forgave them.

Wow, the snobbishness shown here is unreal.

"We're better than them, they should play our players in their positions."
It's hardly snobbishness. When you loan someone out, especially a young player, it should be an arrangement that benefits both teams. Bolton get a fine young player, we get that young player with a year of Premier League experience under his belt, without the risk of the consequences of any mistakes he might make.

But if Bolton go ahead and play him out of position, we get nothing out of it. If they keep Weiss on the bench, we get nothing out of that either. In both cases, it's a year wasted.

If they didn't want to use these players, they shouldn't have asked us to loan them to them. Any number of other clubs would have been happy to have them and play them where we intend to use them when we get them back.

If we had loaned Hart to Birmingham and they had played him as a right back, wouldn't we have been within our rights to be severely pissed at them?

Yes we would, so stop having a go at Blues and pretending that your better than them when you're not, you're just missing the point.

So they should play him where we want even if it means they lose points/places which could cost them relegation?

He didn't play at CB for Bolton becuase he wasn't good enough to, that's all there is to it.

Wherefore means why not where ;)

I think Southampton, Reading, Swansea etc might be good a loan move. No way he should leave permanently - a few months of misuse by Coyle doesn't erase his earlier promise, it just puts us back at square one. Still zero reason to get rid.

Wherefore art thou` Romeo ?
So is Juliet asking why he is a Romeo and not where is he ??
Confused ?? You should be ...

"wherefore" means "For what reason" or "as a rsult of which"

As an interrogative adverb:
she took an ill turn, but wherefore I cannot say

Or as a relative adverb & conjunction:
truly he cared for me, wherefore I title him with all respect

I really rate Boyata (Dedryk is massive) if we loan him it needs to be to a mid table PL side at worse.

Alternatively loan Savic and keep Boyata around the 1st team.

Ditto. Savic may eventually turn out to be a decent player, but i would rather he learned by his mistakes for another team rather than us, so a loan is a good call.

Muppet is right.

Juliet is rather asking 'Why are you Romeo?' as in 'Why the fuck did I (a Capulet daughter) have to fall in love with Romeo (a Montague son)?'

Exactly.Juliet suddenly appears at the window above where Romeo is standing. She is unaware that Romeo is in the garden and she asks why Romeo must be a Montague. She says that if he would refuse his name she would give herself to him, or if he would simply swear he loved her she would refuse her Capulet name.

another player who is never going to make it at the top level

so he will never make it at City

he will end up at a mid to bottom half club like stoke or sunderland

-- Wed Jun 06, 2012 11:07 am --

if you are so clever please explain the meaning of the word "rsult"

Exactly. She's fallen in love without knowing who is was and then it turns out he's a rag/Montague. So "Wherefore art thou Romeo?" means "Why did I have to fall in love with a Rag?"
Back to you, Dedryk.

ps sorry, realised this was answered several pages back. Ignore, ignore.

Young player that still has a lot to learn and a lot to improve on, as does savic. By no means are they finished products and should not be judged so.
