Dell XPS 420 Q6600 3GB PC Base Unit from Tesco.

Tesco price £549 but as my son works there I get £55 reduction so its £494 ish.

I googled it and the google shopping results that come back are up in the £600 bracket.


I'd say get one, but it depends on what you're actually going to do with it.

Gonna do a bit of gaming, some online. Photoshop stuff. Browsing interweb. DVD Film conversion to AVI. Music etc. I do all that on my present computer & the Dell one is much more powerful, so should be OK.

I appreciate not everyone is comfortable using Ebay, but you can get some pretty high spec base units for £300 if you get your bid timing right.

like to fink i no alot about computers and that looks brilliant just use your existing monitor or maybe buy 1 for £100 and that takes the price to the tesco 1 for much better

To be honest mate, i just look for lots of big numbers, but there's loads on ebay, you could probably get one as good as that for a fair bit less if you got lucky on one up for auction.
