It helps you a lot if you are the top dog in the top sport of a country that has a lot big manufacturing companies in different branches that live of export - often one of the market leaders of their branch. It is an advantage the other clubs do not have. The Companies advertise with "made in Germany"... Plus - that is why the commercial revenue of other clubs in Germany is not low either - it helps when not all of your football is behind the paywall on TV or its easier for more people to have access to football at decent times. Our MotD-Show on Saturday starts about an hour after the Saturday afternoon matches. You might make less TV money like this...

I do not know what your connections to Spiegel are - but I guess that is the newspaper Hoeneß and the club hate most.
