Delph's April Fool

Stupid decision to play him on the left, it exposes his weaknesses and doesn't allow him to use his strengths. That's bad management but only six weeks to go of the coffin dodger.

As for the goal last night, Delph was caught piggy in the middle because he has to cover Anita and whoever the Newcastle player was on the edge of the box who was in a far better position. He let Anita shoot from a worse angle and it went in but if Anita had passed to the edge of the box and Delph hadn't blocked it he would have been hammered for it. Certain players didn't recover their defensive positions, that's what cost is the goal.

How many times does he have to stink the place out on the left before the manager gives up on it as a plan? When he finds himself in those advanced positions on the left he literally looks like he hasn't a fucking clue what to do but then he is essentially a limited but hard working, central midfield "water carrier" so it shouldn't come as any surprise that he's not skinning full backs. Shame really because quite often in that first half he was the one in space in dangerous areas and looked a good option before fucking it up every time he got the ball.

He cost 8m from a now-relegated team for a reason.

Decent grafter but he is clearly lacking with a ball at his feet.
