Demichelis

I'll always have a soft spot for Demi just like I will for any player who gives 100% each game.

There's something very satisfying about seeing a player who gets slated from all quarters turn it around a play a key part in our success.

At the end of the day we signed him as a 32 year old CB as a short term fix. The fact he is still here 3 seasons later is a testament to his professionalism. The idea was that his final season with us he would play minimal games and cover for injuries. If Txiki and Pellers could have foreseen how bad our CB injuries would have been then there is no way they would have let Denayer go. He went on loan for playing time, something which Demi was not expecting to get much of.

That said, Pellegrini constantly leaves him hung out to dry in this system. I almost feel sorry for him because as a manager you should be doing everything in your power to stop your players from being exposed. Yet Pellers expects him to play like Vinny and obviously thinks it's acceptable to let the likes of Rashford and Martial have a free run at him.

Demichellis is the first player I will applaud at the end of the season and I wish him all the best.
Not sure about the last line but the rest completely agree with,i have a real soft spot for him as well

Its fantastic to see most supporters leaning towards the viewpoint that the only person who let us down on Sunday was the idiot in charge.

Sad to see him like he is. The poor **** thought he was back off to River Plate. I think his legs actually made the trip!

But why not do what had to be done eventually and play Dinho there or Sagna or fucking any body who could actually play at the requisite level.

I'm not going to blame the player as he shouldn't have been put in that position.

I wonder if he'll get another start?

From this moment on since we can't recall Denayer (who btw is a ball playing CB unlike Mr. Mangala who can't stand it!!), I propose we play the closest player to Kompany we have..... Tosin Adarabioyo. After his performance against Chelshit, how on Earth does not even make the bench!!
And btw, if you have doubts about Mangala, expect him to be Boateng II, I genuinely believe Pep will transform him into that £42 Million beast we've been expecting for a while.
And no John Stones thanks. He seems to not know how to defend all of a sudden

So next season our CB line-up should be:
Kompany (albeit probably limited to 15-20 games due to injury realistically)
Otamendi
Denayer and Mangala (in place of Kompany if he gets injured)
Tosin Adarabioyo/Cameron Humphreys (couple of run ins here and there against lesser team e.g. Burnley (who might make it up to the BPL)

And if Mangala flops just buy Laporte or someone else of a decent calibre

Jeepers, some right nonsense spouted on here. Everyone seems to be an expert on team selection nowadays. Demichelis was the only available center back to slot in yesterday. But as reserve center backs go, he is a proven international with bags of experience at the highest level. Putting him up against an 18 year old child isn't even a risk 99% of the time. What has occurred with Rashford is a total freak. The lad is riding a wave at the moment, but it's only a matter of time before it runs out of steam. It's not the first time a defender got skinned by a rookie and it won't be the last. You can't take em all out the back and shoot them after the match. It could have easily been Otamendi.

Never seen a 0 for a player rating but that's what John Cross has given him in the mirror. Can't disagree to be honest
He probably would have merited a 1 if he would have simply passed the ball into his own net for the 0-2 rather than causing the injury to Hart. The former wouldn't have changed the result while the latter could undermine any chance of getting the train back on the tracks. That said, he should never have been put in this position. That fault lies with Pellegrini and whoever shipped out Denayer.
