Democrat US Presidential Nominations

Both parties are to the right of the Tories.

I watched a political series 'Braindead' on TV a while back I think it was during the election in 2016 and it did show pretty much that, the only thing I can't get my head around is how are there so many liberals and so called progressives in right wing parties?
It's a genuinely serious question, are American politics that fucked up?

Pretty much yeah.

The Republican Party were the liberal and progressive party once upon a time.

You’re right though, American politics is fucked up.

You can run as not only a sex offender but someone who bragged about being sex offender caught on tape and played to the whole nation... but don’t even think about running as an atheist as you’ll have no chance.

Almost certainly not as a Presidential candidate - but as a Congressman/Senator - you'd stand a chance depending on which district/State you're running in.

Yeah I mean presidential.

I love the United States and the principles in which it’s democracy was founded.

It’s far superior to our House of Lords and the history with the monarchy.

Some of the people, like in Britain, have used the freedom of choice to make poor decisions, that’s all.

There’s currently 1. One whole atheist across both houses. That may change over time with the advent of the internet and your younger generations being better educated and exposed to the wider world but I won’t be holding my breath.
