Denis Law and the Backheel - the Facts & Evidence

Always wondered why the ground was full of United fans. Didn’t seem to be any City there from what you could see on the telly other than some cheering seemingly coming from the corner area when the back heel went in.

I’d be interested to know if they’ve had more games abandoned due to crowd problems than any others ? I can only imagine the dippers coming close?

Us in 2000 v Chelsea, ref blew up early. V Spurs in 1993,tried and failed.

Can’t remember Chelsea but the spurs game restarted ;)
Yeah said it failed. Chelsea there was no minute board, like they did in the derby, stewards went round with fingers out telling the border stewards the length of added time before the 90. It was 2 or 3 mins, but 10 seconds were played and the ref blew due to fans encroaching for a big on the pitch.

Thank you Gary but I still say City relegated them. Had utd won then the other teams would have relegated them. They didn’t win. They lost to City so knew they were down. Confirmation of the result was a mere formality.
Emotionally City did relegate Utd. My point being that the ref only abandoned the game when he knew all hope for them had gone. It’s simple really - before that game Utd were not relegated. After it they definitely were.
