Yesterday I interviewed Dennis Tueart about leaving City; his time in New York and his City return. There are some good memories in there as always with Dennis so get yourself a brew and have a watch. It’s free to see and lasts about 50 minutes.

I‘ve interviewed Dennis a few times over the years but I thought it was time to capture his memories of the changing MCFC and his life in NY. It’s not often Pele, Malcolm Allison and Leonard Rossiter all get discussed in an interview. I hope everybody enjoys it. Thanks.

Thanks for a great interview Gary, Dennis Tueart was a hero of mine as a kid, he is looking very well , must be still working hard at the Waterside Gym!

Met Dennis on a JB open day at MR after we'd won the LC.

He was just sat in a room in the Main stand with the trophy as we passed through....I just hung back and had a nice couple of mins with him including holding the trophy when the rest of the snotty nosed kids had moved on.

Great stuff. Was my hero growing up, a brilliant player.

I was at Platt Lane years ago at The Tribal Gathering, maybe 2002ish. He was a guest of honour. My wife went up to him and told him about me idolising him. He came over and chatted. I asked him if I called my dad, would he speak to him. No problem. I called my dad and said, 'There's a bloke here who wants to talk to you. He's called Dennis. Dennis Tueart'. The silence was very loud. He took my phone and went over to a quiet corner and spoke to my dad for quite a while. My dad was in tears when I finally got the phone back and spoke to him. My dad was a veteran of the '55 cup final and pretty much every other big moment since.

Loved that video, Gary.

Ill start by saying that i always loved tueart. His prime years were before my time but as a kid he was always a favourite player.

But … not sure how i feel that after a few weeks (he said weeks, not sure what the actual period was) out of the team followimg injury he not only saw his arse and put a transfer request in he was happy to not only talk to those red bastards but was actually for a moment interested in joining them!

Fucker

Ah...and he even helped us beat Leeds in the 73 Cup final

I was at Wembley for that. Was genuinely cheering you all the way. As I think virtually all neutrals were.
Two absolutely major recruitments from you followed that. The other being, of course, Big Dave.
