I taught a lad called Derek Panter many moons ago at Baguley Hall School, Wythenshawe, very good footballer.... is he the same one?
Very sad, in any case.

I grew up on Lambton Road in Chorlton-cum-Hardy and the Panter's lived in the end house (52).
I was closer in age to his younger brother Phil. Derek played for Torquay United after leaving City, and then in non-league for Ashton United. Fred Eyre tells a good story involving the pair of them having to cut the boundary hedges in Fog Lane park during the summer break whilst apprentices.

So was he the Derek who went to Baguley Hall in the 50s/60s?
Not sure if the question was directed at me Swifty ? His brother Phil went to Chorlton High. It's not exactly a common surname. I'd say it must have been.
