you have been shipwrecked a la robinson crusoe.
everyone else drowned in the storm.

miraculously, the battered & broken ship came to rest in shallow water near the shore.
the bulk of the cargo is 3 different varieties of drinks,
of which there is more than enough to last out your lifetime on the island.
all you have to do is choose which 3 drinks you wish them to be.

notes:
a) there is endless cold springwater on the island,
in fact it cascades over a waterfall into a natural pool,
which is rather handy for cooling drinks if need be.
b) there are all sorts of fruit growing on the island,
so you can make juices, mixers, lemonade, etc.
but if you want cola or fizzy pop it has to be one of your 3 choices.
c) just as in robinson crusoe, there are wild goats,
so milk can be freshly had once they've been corralled.
d) caffeine lovers do not despair,
onboard the ship are ample sacks of coffee beans and tea leaves.
no need to choose either of these as one of your drinks.

remember, these are the only 3 drinks for the rest of your life.
once chosen there is no changing your mind.

it goes without saying that you can pick the finest of drinks.
you may choose specific brand names if you wish,
i shall just be more general...

1. a single malt whisky - heavily peated and smoky.
2. a full-bodied, earthy rioja.
3. a stout - thick and perhaps with a hint of chocolate.

is that all you want?

you are allowed three.

it reminds me of the old joke about the irish tinker who came across a rusty lamp.
whilst cleaning it out popped a genie and gave him 3 wishes.
he asked for a never-ending pint of guinness, which did indeed refill itself magically.
when the genie asked him what he would like with his remaining wishes, he replied,
"i'll have another couple of them, thanks."
