Have you checked the event logs at the time off turn off for any clues? Could be software or hardware. If it doesn't go through the shutdown process and just immediately goes off it will most likely be hardware I'd say

Yes its just immediately goes off, no shutdown process. How do i check event logs / Not very good with computers.

Mine was doing that after I built my new one, it turned out in my case that it was the PSU but since you've already jumped in and replaced it you're going to have to do some digging.

First off what specs and operating system do you have? Does it reboot while browsing or gaming or is it just random?

Download and install HWiNFO from http://www.hwinfo.com/download.php, either the 32bit one or if you know you've got a 64bit OS then the HWiNFO64 version.

HWiNFO has a sensor window which can run standalone, it can record a log of all sorts such as temperatures, fan speeds and voltages (that may have saved you splurging on a new PSU :( ). Post the result up here if you can. I'd pay particular attention to the temps.

You access the Windows logs from "Event Viewer", if you've got Windows 8/8.1 (possibly 7) then hold down the Windows key + X and select Event Viewer.

I would use HWiNFO first as you may get lost in Event Viewer.

Could just be the power settings. Normally, energy saving options, which can shut down the display or even the whole computer after so long, are the default setting even when on main power.

Find the Battery/Power icon in the system tray and right-click on it. Check the shutdown options aren't switching something off after x minutes.

Lol, I never considered that. I thought he meant it was crashing but you may have a point.

The OP said desktop but it could just be the monitor shutting down after a few minutes.

Are you getting a BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) before it shuts down?
If you are your RAM could be at fault,if you have more than one stick of RAM in the machine remove one and start from there if it still shuts down then put the stick of RAM back in and take out the other stick.
If your CPU is overheating that can cause an immediate shutdown.Take your cover off and clean around the motherboard and CPU very carefully.
Failing that and all the good advice given on here.
Smash it to bits and throw it in the trash.
