Had a bottle last night, oh my fucking god, nice light and neckable, its a surefire 1 way ticket to ruinsville,
Not really seen it much on the shelves though, who stocks it?

I love it, for the reasons you mention! Its stronger than a lot of lagers as well. Wetherspoons have started selling it which is good, like you say its hard to track down in shops though. Your best bet is probably corner shops and places like that, never seen it in the supermarket.

Morrisons. The Dog's Bollocks that stuff. They also sell one called Amigos which is very similar and has the extra advantage of being called Amigos.

My mate went skiing in France recently and they were selling Desperados Red, haven't noticed it here could be wrong though.

Trouble is when you've had it it's hard to go back to normal lager because of the tequila and taste of it. It's like going from cider to lager, just doesn't work for me.

Brewed in France, so I'd expect they have the new flavours first...but Desperado Red?! Is that lager with wine in it?

It is good in small doses, but far too sweet and sickly to drink for a whole night, kind of like having snakebite in that respect.

Didn't realise it was brewed there.

I just found this review about the red online;

"Having had such success with the original product imagine my excitemeant when I discovered earlier this year that they had bought a new flavour out called Desperados Red, a similar cerveza-style lager infused with tequila but this time including the added delights of the fashionable Brazilian cane-spirit Cachaca and energy agent Guarana. The taste is fairly similar to the original but with an added fruit based kick and the scarlet red colour is also impressive! I can see this being a massive success in the UK and extremely welcome news to the brands already cult following. My sample unfortunately had to come all the way from Paris and in true Desperados fashion there is no news of a UK release, nor much in the way of correspondence from the beers manufacturer Brasserie Fischer. However I will be trying my best to locate a UK supplier so I can launch it as soon as possible in our venues so watch this space."

That review was from 2009 though so will have to keep an eye out for it.
