Surely this shouldn't be on the transfer forum.

Why could Real approach and sign a player before 1st Jan. Surely the transfer window is operated throughout Europe.

you can sign a player on princible have all the forms signed but you can only register a player to a new club within the transfer window, so as soon as it the window opens the faxes will be sent to the relavent f.a's

yea, it's just a way to speed up everything so the new guy can play as soon as possible.
