This isn't exactly as serious as the Guardian is making out. Bosman it certainly isn't.
It is simply a legal dispute after the club sacked a player and sought to recover money. He wanted to join a new club but they were worried they would be liable for the money owed so they didn't sign him.

But it is not the end of the world portrayed by the Guardian. It certainly isn't a Bosman. It changes very very little.

Hopefully it gets to the stage where player reimbursement is lower because of the lack of commitment to their clubs, it'll be up to clubs to keep them happy and it can be a 2 way street where clubs could just get rid of them when they want.
