Did Joachim Loew get it wrong ...

... by subbing our Boat for Jansen at 0-0?

seemed to make no sense at the time, Boat wasnt having a bad game, was in fact stopping the threat on the spain right to good effect.

if he stayed on, maybe the german defence might not have got that corner defense wrong.

I can see if Loew wanted to try and attack more down their left side at 0-0 with Jansen bein more attacking minded that Boat, but wouldnt have made more sense adding the attacking midfielders he added later on earlier instead instead of dirupting their backline??

It left me baffled, and I think Boateng was a bit confused, too. Why is it that we spell it 'Loew' when it's 'Low' (with a funny 'o') to the Germans?

I thought Boateng struggled last night and easily could have been carded a couple of times before he was taken off. He was getting no help from the midfield in front of him and so was being left to deal with not only Ramos, but often Iniesta or one of the other midfielders as well. I don't think it was necessarily a bad decision, but the change didn't really fix the problem either.

my dad dislikes city. will never give any of the players credit.

but he said boateng was playing really well in this game.

with his height he may have got to that header that puyol hit in.

I think we're clutching at straws there, as he was the nearest defender to Upson for his goal.

I thought he got caught out of position quite abit in the 10-15 mins before his substitution. Spain played the ball into his area and he was no where to be seen on 2-3 occassions.

Probably playing out of position and lack of experience + playing against a dam good team led to him being subbed as Germany then looked abit stronger in that position

thought he struggled due to the fact Spain kept the ball, kept it moving and dictated the pace of the game but he wasn't the only one.

Because his name is Löw. ö = ew in German. As we don`t have ö in our language we just say Loew.

If yer don't put in the 'umlaut' - the two little dots above the 'o' - yer stick an 'e' in there to change the sound of the 'o'. End of free German lesson. (And if yer think yer getting a free Dutch lesson on Sunday, forget it!)

And his name is Luuuuuuuurv - Joachim (Jogi) Luuuuuuuuuuuurv but say the 'ö' as though you were whistling

Ennyvay, Jogi, did Jurgen not tell you zat you cannot vinn ennysing vit der kidz.

Upson wasn't his man to mark though. That was pretty clear
