Funnily enough I heard a great story about this from a bloke who has the ear of Newcastles inner working and he was telling me that Ashley had a meeting lined up with the Shiekh and was over there for a few days with 5 mates on the piss. He got carried away and was on the lash the night before the meeting and turned up very late for the meeting convincing teh Shiekh that he didn't want to do business with a man of Ahleys calibre.
Ashley then starting giving it 'do you know who I am' etc... and the Shiekh walked away without another thought!!
The guy I know reckons every City fan should buy Ashley a pint when they meet him as thanks!?!
