Did you celebrate? (vs Spurs pg21)

I've reached the point with the game, the officials et al that I expect every City goal to be chalked off. I celebrate every goal, even the ones that were legitimately chalked off, but VAR won't stop me. I will celebrate and when VAR confirms I will celebrate again! Two celebrations for one goal. The RDAHMeedya will be fuming!
Good for you Dave but Its human nature to be cautious and look over your shoulder once you've been disappointed.

And the thing is, thousands of people will be thinking this. It’ll have an effect on crowds over the coming years.

Life is tough, we’re in work all week, we have our social problems too and we all need that something to give us some elation in life and to de-stress. For football fans it was that emotion of the ball hitting the net. There’s never been anything better than going bananas when the ball hits the net. The pure exhilarated feeling you get inside. Nothing else in life makes you go so wild. You don’t celebrate at the front of the church [or wherever] when you get married or in the delivery room when your kids are born, like you do when your team scores a goal.

And especially the big goals (Dickov, Agüero, Kompany), the big goals where you lose yourself, we’ve all had it when we’ve ended up three rows in front of where our seat is because we’ve gone fucking mental with a goal being scored. Those goals are better than sex and are moments that will live with us until our dying day.

But now, it’s over!

Nobody is ever going to celebrate in the same way again. The ball will hit the net - and if it’s not already done it, a few more VAR interrupted celebration will get the rest of you at some point - and the first thought won’t be “YYEESS!!”, it’ll be “wonder if that’ll be disallowed?!”

I’m gutted. Absolutely gutted!
This man understands.

Think its unfair to lay all the blame on Var for that goal celebration. There was a subdued celebration not no celebration and whilst var was obviously a factor another factor was the fact it was our third goal in a game already won, there’s always less of a cheer than say the first goal or second. In addition to that and probably the biggest reason, everybody around me thought he was offside. At least wait until there’s an opening goal that didn’t appear to have any issue with it not celebrated before declaring var has ruined celebrating a goal.

The decisions for the sterling goal and the disallowed goal were ridiculously tight and that’s why it took quite a while, that undoubtedly needs quickening up and I fully expect it to happen as we adapt to using it but we aren’t going to get so many marginal calls every game, our game was an outlier in that respect. across all games this weekend every goal was checked and the vast majority of them were checked and a decision made before people even contemplated var potentially ruling it out

Did it kill football when it allowed Aguero to retake the penalty?

Yes.

Aguero looked embarrassed and it was all just a bit “meh”.

I haven’t celebrated a single City goal like I used to when we’ve played under VAR.

I used to really want it, watching the Rags gain advantage after advantage from refereeing but I just want the feeling of us scoring to come back.
