"Gordon Taylor, Chief Executive of the PFA and the highest paid union official in the world. Taylor earns a £1million yearly salary - five times the remuneration of the second highest-paid union official and around ten times that of the average League Two player."

While we're on the subject of the credit crunch somebody should inform the Queen to start shopping at Lidl and start building her people more fucking hospitals.

Re: There's a credit crunch on.

The average League 2 player earns £100k a year? :-O

That can't be right?

Some of the Blue Square players are earning £35K+. There was a League 2 Chairman complaining a few seasons ago about one of his players getting £130K with bonuses, so I imagine a lot of them are now earning £100K, or £2K per match

I know players who have packed in when their teams turn pro as they can not afford the wage cut (i.e they lose far more by giving up their day job than they gain for going from semi-pro to pro).

It will depend which clubs, but I know in Lancashire players who do not earn that much. Blue Square prem is mostly pro these days.

Wow I thought the wages were way below that once you drop out of the league.
