So we should base our transfer targets on who other clubs are going for?

Well no-one else looks close to signing Kaka, Villa, Messi, Buffon etc so lets forget them.

I think you have misunderstood his point. He was arguing that if Santa Cruz was this good surely other clubs may be interested, but no1 seems to be.

nobody seems to be going for anyone at the mo, and whats the point of trying to go for rsc if we are, they know we will outbid them.

Not convinced - look what happened with Diarra - just cos we have the money doesnt mean we arent working to a budget based on our value of a player. For example if Chelsea offered £25M for RSC I very much doubt we would top that bid.

"We have made a substantially improved bid but it was rejected. We still want to bring Roque Santa Cruz to the Club if we can, but obviously he is Blackburn's player and at the moment they do not want to deal at the level we have made a bid at. That's their prerogative. We bid £12million in the summer, and this was significantly higher."

From that we can guess we bid around £15m this time around... he's really not worth that ffs. Look at Huntelaar; £~18m
