Differing transfer clauses.

The player still has to agree to come back in the first place though, which if it's purely to sell again they may not want.

True, although they always seem to go back to Madrid regardless. Perhaps they’re not entirely forthcoming as to their plans when they re-sign players?

Morata was a good example. Real sold him to Juve for €20M, re-signed him for €30M, had him as a squad player for one season then moved him on for €60M

I'm pretty sure the players are in on it and get 2 signing on fees

the player would make more money moving twice
If they got a fixed fee on each move you may have been right, however it's entirely dependant on each move. The move to the 2nd club may net them more (or maybe not).

Frimpong completed his Bayer Leverkusen move for a mooted £11.5million. They paid £350,000 to us initially and we get 30% of the £11.5million so not a bad deal for ourselves and very good business for Celtic.

Leeds could probably flip him in the summer for four times that

Nobody is paying £30m for Jack Harrison.

But even if that were the case, he still isn't anywhere near good enough for us. He'd have had no game time here and would be worth nothing if he'd stayed with us. If another club can provide an environment where a player can develop and thrive then they deserve whatever excess they can make on top of the fee we're getting out of it.

The other thing with the Harrison deal is that no one knows how much they've paid us in loan fees, it could easily be approaching £5m for each of the last 2 seasons.

Same with Angelino.

Sheffield United paid £23.5m for Rhian Brewster in the summer. Villa £30m for Watkins. None had done anything of note in the PL despite being around the same age as Harrison who has arguably been Leeds’ best player
