Let me try to predict what Pep would do:

Ederson
Cancelo Otamendi Fernandinho Mendy
Rodri
Gundogan Silva
Bernardo Aguero Sterling

  • Between tuesday and sunday there is good enough time to recover so we will have a strong team
  • He'll want to play the center backs together as much as possible to foster understanding
  • You can take this prediction to the bank

Got a text to say in chairman’s lounge as opposed to Mancunian on Tuesday due to poor sales. Could be a low crowd?

They’re giving tickets away so should bump slightly but yeah not much take up. Sisters school have been given 1,500 tickets to give away.

Looking forward to it. In the arsenal end tomo night as well so a good week of football.

This is what happens when the club keep putting up seasoncard prices.

People are choosing to ditch the CL Cup Scheme to save back a bit more money. Peoples’ wages aren’t going up as much as the sc prices are and in just four years the sc prices have gone up about £150 so clawing back £60+ by not going to the CL group stage is an obvious thing to do.

They’ll just take up the option to take up their seats in the knock-out stages.

Our average CL group stage attendance is about 45000 over the eight years we’ve been in it and has remained the same since the stadium expansion. If the club just stopped upping sc prices for an extended period, I reckon more would take up the CL Cup Scheme.

I reckon this year’s group stage will have a lower average attendance than our usual group stage average.

Yep it certainly seems like the CL is absolute priority this season.
I also think it’s a tactic to try and wrap qualification up early so the key players don’t need to be relied on come the difficult November/December games

Think that the lack of "glamourous" opponents will impact on attendances in the group stages. Tourists are more likely to want to watch Barca, Madrid Bayern, Juve etc

Dinamo Zagreb are a really talented side, some decent players.

Dominik Livakovic thier 24 year old goalkeeper is a very good athletic shot stopper and kept 9 clean sheets this season from 13 games.

Dani Olmo Spanish 21 year old winger/attacking mid has a good eye for goal and a very good dribbler and is a target for many big clubs.

Lovro Majer was allegedly being watched by City earlier last year when @ NK Locomotive when he scored goals for fun, but he has been preferred in the league over Champions League games. If he does play he is a good assister of goals and an eye for a goal too.

Bruno Petkovic will probably be their choice at CF. A real beast at 1.93m up front with a lot of strength, but very capable with the ball at his feet. Won 6 aerial challenges against a taller Atalanta defence than ours.

Mislav Orsic probably play up front on the right, hat trick against Atalanta and 6 in total in Champions League including from earlier qualifying rounds.

Nikola Moro 21 likely to be the preferred DM, comfortable on the ball and a dynamic passer.

We can get at them defensively but will take a good shot to get past their keeper. Still expect us to win, but gift them an early goal and the night could be uncomfortable. They will be a harder team to beat on their home turf. Hopefully Zagreb will be a little overawed against us at the Etihad.

Could do with giving Sterling a rest, but don’t think either Mahrez or Bernardo are happy playing on the left

Zagreb are one of the worst teams in CL so should be comfortable win

Ederson
Cancelo
Garcia
Fernandinho
Mendy
Rodrigo
De Bruyne
Foden
Mahrez
Jesus
Aguero

Yeah, I was quite surprised with the walloping they gave Atalanta. I should think they might want to get something out of this game other than the stodgy 0-0 they start with so that would suit us if we have the right blend.

You may be mistaking Zagreb for Red Star Belgrade who beat the scousers 2-0 in the group stages.

Zagreb were in Europa League last season went out to Benfica after extra time drawing 1-1 on aggregate after both legs.

Think pep will go overly strong to get the group won but it will be unnecessary and a missed potential for a few of the fringe youngsters. Don’t expect this but I’d like to see

Ederson
Cancelo
Garcia
Otamendi
Mendy
Rodri
Silva
Foden
Mahrez
Bernardo
Jesus

A lot of change at the back but they train with each other everyday I think the value of having a settled back 4 in our side is a bit overrated and it’s more important to keep certain players fresh (dinho and walker) and get minutes into the likes of cancelo mendy and Garcia.

I’d play silva a little bit deeper than usual almost alongside Rodri controlling the game from there to allow the fullbacks more license to get forward and to give Foden more responsibility for being the creative spark. putting more onus on him to create when he plays will do him good, it can be easy for him to play alongside the likes of silva and kdb knowing they can produce the goods and to keep it tidy almost like gundogan does more often than not, I want to see him influence games.

Upfront sterling was terrible yesterday and could do with a rest and Jesus deserves another go upfront with Aguero to return at the weekend.
