Diogo Jota & his brother Andre have died in a car crash

That’s terrible what a shock. It just show how precious life is. One minutes life is sweet the next you’ve lost it all.
I struggle with that, me. That one the other year where the bride got killed by the drunk driver when her and the groom were in a golf cart at the wedding.

Same with this. His poor wife. It’s incomprehensible how you go from such a high to the unthinkable like that.

Is there a reason Sky Sports News aren't covering this? The lead story on Sky News but SSN are still waffling on about transfer rumours?
They’re always a little bit slow on certain stories. probably wanting to verify it before they put it out

Might be a pre-recorded bit from overnight. 10am update will likely bring the breaking news.
Well that's very poor on their part if that's what they do these days, they should cut to the Sky News coverage if so.

Anyway, thoughts are with Jota's family and friends, and to Liverpool fans who have lost their player, I was too young to remember MVF so I can't imagine seeing one of your football team's players lose their life. RIP.

Awful news - very sad, life is so precious. Thoughts are with his young family and parents.

From the BBC:

The car, a Lamborghini, left the road due to a tyre blow out while overtaking another car. The car set on fire, and both are confirmed to have died.

Trying to think if a current Premier League title holder has ever died before.

Just can't get my head round this.
It hardly happens that active high-profile footballers pass away for some reason. Part of the reason why this doesn't feel real. Absolutely awful news

Maybe not the time and place for starting a discussion about it, but seem to recall Sergio having a real scare in a car accident some years ago while with us? Obviously also an heart scare right after leaving us

Awful.....fabulous player as well. Seemed like a very likeable player on the pitch also

RIP, Diogo.

Awful news, and even more impactful given he was going through an incredibly happy period in his young life.

Football aside, we really don't know when our time is up in life, it really is short. What a tragedy.
