Dirty, Rotten Financial Services

This article is in relation to rape convictions but its all funded from the same pot and Boris lied about it in parliament.

Chris Henley, chair of the Criminal Bar Association, said: “The criminal justice system is severely underfunded, as a result of relentless cuts over the last ten years.”

Geoffrey Cox QC, who was Attorney General in 2019, accepted that the CPS had suffered a 30 per cent funding reduction when questioned by MPs.
You misread me. I mean it’s now a CPS issue as in ‘it’s now with the CPS to prosecute to conviction’. Not that there is any issue with the CPS per se.

What gets me is how someone with millions to invest falls for any **** offering guaranteed returns in double figures.

Is, sadly, the correct answer - I imagine it was sold as the profit envelope on the development but why would they be looking for crowd funding and not just go to the banks for it if it was a genuinely good investment? If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

This is nothing to do with (de)regulation.

There is a fuck ton of regulation in Financial Services. What these cunts did broke the regulations and is/was illegal. That’s the point. Also has fuck all to do with the Tories and is now a CPS issue.

The entire legal system in this country is under funded and crippled by austerity leading to delays and sometimes bizarre decisions not to prosecute due to costs - that is a Tory issue

I can tell you now it's definitely not underfunded, it's the lack of government support for people who need access to legal advice that's underfunded.

I know a solicitor on social media who moans about this lack of support constantly but he doesn't seem to mention that it's his choice to charge poor people over £250ph.

False premise. There have been big cuts to legal aid and CPS budgets doesn't need to be a binary.

Does he work for himself? That figure is the guideline for someone with 8 years plus experience, working outside of London. Would also have to cover professional indemnity fees etc.
