"Disappointing" attendances

we had a larger attendance on Sunday than there was at villa park last night (not capacity) - despite only a handful of Fulham fans and Sunday lunchtime KO etc and it being Villa's biggest game for years. Where's the media outrage???
Wasn’t Villa v City in the FA cup 2016 a 23,000 crowd with 5,000 blues? And yet they are a proper historic big club with fantastic fans? The criticism we get is ridiculous.

Pep has really opened a can of worms hasn't he with his latest attendance dig. It doesn't take much for the snipers and empty seat knicker wetter watchers to take the bait and mock. Some ex failed pro called Jamie O' hara the latest **** to say how small we are, no fans etc. In future don't bother mentioning the crowd Pep unless it's to say how good we are.

I tell you what, if he doesn't praise how many are there tonight I am round to his restaurant in my bell bottoms and I am going to give him some grief.

The media hypocrisy is beyond belief. On one hand it's still the 'working class' game but with us it seems not to be the case? Incredible how we get snidey comments from clubs whose attendances we have p**ssed over for years and years. We're not perfect but we're better than most

Not content with turning the Etihad into the ‘Theatre of Cheese’ the way they are with the media just shows them up for what they are, spineless.
The media this week have all been fuelled by Pep and his comments on Sunday.

Why, when asked about the strength of the squad, did he mention why he didn’t know why the fans didn’t show up and support the team?

I just don’t get it, or him when it comes to this.

TV scheduling/moving kick off times/dates of matches/making no allowance for away travel etc etc has all been negatively impacting on attendances.

TV companies have not given a toss about the match going fans for years and it is getting worse. It is only now that it is starting to affect the 'product' they are trying to sell abroad that they are taking notice.

They also seem to believe that match going fans have unlimited funds. Teams like City go a long way in all four competitions, that is a lot of matches to find the money for.

Teams like Spurs, Arsenal and West Ham only have a hardcore of 35k (Chelsea less than that) but can make up the difference with tourists and day trippers.

Yes - loads to be proud of in our attendances ... 50k+ is actually a really high league average when you look round Europe, only surpassed by a few clubs.

Yes, it's awkward that we happen to be in the same city as the club with the highest attendances, but that's not our fault. No one compares favourably with Utd's (published) attendances (unfortunately).

But I'm afraid that Pep - fantastic football though he brings us every week - is not great at bigging-up the club. He's said a number of daft things now which have been seized-upon by our detractors. They aren't necessary to say, and they aren't even objectively true.

Please stop, Pep !

If any interviewer is crass enough to bring up attendance for tonights game with Pep hope he is savvy enough to mention the first game was 6k short of a full house and not whine about not being a complete full house!
