Special mention for pellegrini..100% spot on tactically tonight..

Agreed. Although I'm still not totally convinced that his approach will work often enough away from home. The Chelsea game should give a better indication of how well we will do against teams that really attack us. It will be interesting to see how he adapts his tactics for that type of game.

Think the Chelsea game is the ideal game to see the best of Navas playing a team with full backs that attack and leave space behind should be his game, especially a team with Terry at centre back. Playing against teams that defend deep with no space to sprint into stops him using his biggest asset.

I taught his tactic for the west ham game was spot on. The substitutions were also right.

Nice to see him keeping faith with his high line and massive attack policy.

Another major test would be cska and Chelsea away. Would he stick with 2 up front for these games. Chelsea most especially or would he be cautious ?

After the bayern game I think he said that we are developing a style and wouldn't change our game plan b/cos we are playing bayern. We got schooled, hope he gets chelsea formations right this time.

'United have won!' Pellegrini lied to City players to get them pumped up before West Ham clash

Manuel Pellegrini played mind games on his own players to fire them up to beat West Ham on Saturday night.

The Manchester City boss told his players that rivals United had beaten Southampton – despite the fact they conceded a last minute equaliser to Adam Lallana.

City beat West Ham 3-1 in the late kick off on Saturday night and the players believed that Arsenal, Chelsea had all won.

The trick worked as Sergio Aguero and David Silva earned City all three points at Upton Park.
Defender Micah Richards said: ‘The manager said they (United) had won, Arsenal had won and Chelsea had won, so we had to win as well. Maybe it was a bit of reverse psychology."
