There's no good way to sack someone. All you can hope for is that your club has already put future plans in place when someone is sacked, which is exactly what City did with Hughes and Mancini. The moral hand wringing is just tabloid nonsense. Both men walked away with multi million pound pay offs. In Mancini's case he was pretty much asking to be sacked for the six months leading up to his sacking.

I'd say that if Pellegrini stays on this summer it's because it is a cast iron 100% guarantee that Pep will be our next manager.

Obviously, you cannot get a 100% guarantee on such things; even if Pep has given his word, he could fall under a bus. But, I agree that Pellers staying would indicate that City are planning for Pep's arrival. If that is indeed the case, I have said before that I would like to see Paddy V promoted to the first team coaching staff ahead of becoming Pep's #2. For now I'd have PV alongside Ruben and Kiddo; unless BK has decide it is time to retire or fancies coaching the youngsters.

I still think it's not out of the question that it'll happen this summer. We shouldn't underestimate the politics at play in Munich at present.

Dunno what's going to happen with PV, I read quotes from him from somewhere saying that he wanted to stay on as EDS coach.

Honestly I think it's much more complicated for Bayern to deal with a manager going into the last 12 months of his contract, especially Pep, than it is for us to deal with going into next season without renewing MP's. I think our season and the transition into Pep will be pretty smooth.

That is the interesting bit, if Pep has committed to City, how do Bayern deal with it? I do think it would be harsh treatment in respect of Pellers if he was told he was staying and then there was a sudden about turn.

I find it impossible to believe that MP isn't in on the entire situation. Don't think Txiki or Pep would do him like that when they all have so much respect for each other.

The Manchester derby could be extra tasty next year with the way Mourinho has been fluttering his eyelashes at the rags again. I'd be worried if I was a Chelsea fan.

I don't think JoMo fancies the competition. He had an easy ride this season for various reasons but he'll know full well that come next season it won't be that easy, and he'll also know full well that whether it's this summer or next, Pep's coming, at which point his status as the undisputed king of Premier League managers will become very disputed.

Have you seen his latest comments? He loves Chelsea and would never leave them but he would love to manage another club in the Prem after Chelsea.

W H A T ? ? ?

No i haven't seen those comments. I've been avoiding the football pages all week - ostensibly to stay away from the scouse driven campaign to characterise Sterling and his agent as villains.

Wouldn't surprise me if from the off he was well aware that he was intended to be the forerunner to Pep.

Bayern are really not going to want to sack Pep, given the compensation that would be involved.

And Pep isn't going to resign either. In fact he seems hell bent on letting all and sundry know that he's happy in Bayern and has every intention of seeing out his contract.

So Bayern have to decide what happens this summer. Do they give Pep the players he wants, or do they get the players that Sammer wants. If they don't give Pep the players he wants what's the point of keeping him? If they do give him the players he wants then what do they do if he still doesn't sign a new deal and walks to City in 12 months.

For Munich they are going to look like absolute chumps whatever happens. The only way they get out of this without looking bad is if they somehow manage to convince Pep to sign a new deal. Which frankly, I think is nigh on impossible.

Jose Mourinho has admitted he could manage another club in the Premier League but would only leave Chelsea if Roman Abramovich sacked him.
The Portuguese, who has just led Chelsea to the title for the third time, revealed on BBC's Football Focus that he would like to continue managing in England if he left Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho said: 'The day Mr Abramovich thinks I am not good enough for Chelsea, I want to work, and if possible in England too.
'Until Mr Abramovich says so, I don't see myself going. Any club can come to me now and offer me a fantastic project, offer me twice the wages in the contract at Chelsea, but there's no chance I will go.
'I see myself coaching another club, yes, but I love Chelsea and I am in Mr Abramovich's hands and until then, I am staying here.'
Russian owner Abramovich would have little reason to dispense with Mourinho at the moment after they won the Premier League and the Capital One Cup in an outstanding season.

Hahahahaha. Absolutely classic from Mourinho. Are we supposed to have forgotten when he rejoined Chelsea saying he could never manager another PL club? Or that he wanted to stay there forever. Hahahahaha.
