But this is the problem he often picks the wrong side and has to change it, the problem is that like yesterday the game had already gone. You only have to look at Harts face to tell you what the players thought of this formation. The players can see it the fans can see it..... but he would play the same 11 again. Then some fans wonder why people are upset.
I feel your hurt bud and I agree you reap what you sow. On Saturday he did what he'd been doing last season that brought us to the brink of missing out on CL qualification. It's this that dismays me and by the sound of it an increasing amount of fans too.

Like you said many of us can see it and a few saw signs of this from the beginning of his reign and realised it would only be a matter of time before we were sussed out. Winning the double in his first season just sought to mask the impending issues ahead imo. Everyone makes mistakes which is human, but to keep making the same mistake over and over again is criminal.

Frequently the character of a manager is reflected in the way their side plays. The aggression of Pardew, the high energy of Klopp. In the past half dozen matches we have only consistently pressed with energy once, the Sevilla game, when the players knew it was make or break with qualification in the CL. All too often we seem to play a slow build up, low energy style with little urgency. It would be nice if MP could show some passion and motivate the players to press together on a regular basis.

He would also have known that in reality he only had two substitutions at his discretion. He was already committed to taking Aguero off early in the 2nd half if not sooner. And the medics had probably advised him that two of his replacement options (Fernandhino and Delph) shouldn't play for more than 45 mins. To some extent his options were restricted by the poor physical condition of the squad.
Mate, Sagna and Mangala had the Paris trauma to deal with and although Fernandinho, De Michelis and Otamendi only returned on Friday, it doesn't hide the truth that we essentially went 424 against a Klippety side who guessed what we were likely to do and prepared for it. Unfortunately for us the damage was done from the moment the team sheet was formulated and the formation decided upon.

If Yaya and Fernando in a midfield two didn't work last season, on what planet was it going to work this? You reap what you sow.........

Against Seville, we had the team on the pitch, to do that job. He picked the team, got the tactics perfect & showed what he & the team can do. They were understandably, a bit tired v Villa, just as Liverpool would be if they had to play on Tuesday after that, so I don't really blame him for that.

But I blame him for Saturday, & Spurs, & Juve at home etc. The fact that he showed us what a manager he can be, then showed us what a **** he can be, is why I want him gone, whatever he wins this season.

Why are people using this "we're in the qf of the League Cup, in the next phase of the Champions League & may well win the Premier League" as an argument to excuse that fucking disgusting shambolic piece of shit management we saw on Saturday ? Or some of his other fuckups ?

Are people really suggesting that we would be struggling with this squad, if it wasn't for Pellegrini ? That it's only his brilliance which rescued our clueless players v Seville & Borussia, when we were playing like shite & getting turned over ? Or it was his brilliance which rescued us v Newcastle when we were bing ripped apart at the back ?

Really ? If we had Van Ghunt as manager, we would be mid table & struggling to qualify ? Or Koemann wouldn't be able to compete for anything with this squad ? Or Pinocchio or even fucking Martinez ? We'd be happy if Martinez took over & set us up like that v Liverpool, because he's managed to drag us up to 3rd in the league ?

If Kevin Keegan took over this fucking squad tomorrow, we would compete for all the domestic trophies & do a similar topsy turvy job. Mancini would do this or better. So would Benitez or any **** with any half decent managerial ability.

Pellegrini has showed us once this season, what he can do with tactics & nous, away at Seville. That was management, top class, management. The rest of the time, thiis season Harry fucking Redknapp could have done exactly the same job, & we wouldn't be any worse off, at all.

He has at his disposal, some of the best players ever to play in this country. We SHOULD be competing for every trophy, under any manager who comes here. The great manager, should now have us running clear at te top of the league, based on the fixtures we have played. Our loss at Spurs was a fucking disgrace as was the stupidity of allowing a Juve team who came for a draw, score 2 goals without even having to take a risk, to do it.

Any **** could have City where they are now. What he should be doing, is pulling unexpected results out of the bag, not getting fucking hammered unexpectedly.

Good stuff. Agree with all this.

Mario says different.

Pellegrini got is very badly wrong and i think everyone agrees on that but lets not start making things up ;-)

Tell you something mate I've never seen such a collective condemnation before at a live match about his formation and team selection on Saturday, to a man sat near my fans were shouting at him to fucking change it round after 10 minutes, he got it so completely wrong it beggars belief, tell you something mate he's fucking playing with our chance of winning the title at the expense of his CL obsession, a competition we wont win until we have a manager good enough tactically to get the most out of the best squad in the premier league.

I've never left a game early until Saturday, when that 4th went it emptied en masse.

Sorry, my mistake. I forgot Mario started every game he could under Mancini and never got substituted.

Now now, you know what I meant and to this day, despite me not being one of Mancini's biggest fans i am angry at the way Mario treated and behaved for a man who did everything and staked so much on him.

Saturday was appalling and there is no way of getting away from that.

Nobody is even trying to.
