As bad as people on this thread say Pellegrini is. Who of them would put money on us not winning a trophy this season under his management?

Why are people using this "we're in the qf of the League Cup, in the next phase of the Champions League & may well win the Premier League" as an argument to excuse that fucking disgusting shambolic piece of shit management we saw on Saturday ? Or some of his other fuckups ?

Are people really suggesting that we would be struggling with this squad, if it wasn't for Pellegrini ? That it's only his brilliance which rescued our clueless players v Seville & Borussia, when we were playing like shite & getting turned over ? Or it was his brilliance which rescued us v Newcastle when we were bing ripped apart at the back ?

Really ? If we had Van Ghunt as manager, we would be mid table & struggling to qualify ? Or Koemann wouldn't be able to compete for anything with this squad ? Or Pinocchio or even fucking Martinez ? We'd be happy if Martinez took over & set us up like that v Liverpool, because he's managed to drag us up to 3rd in the league ?

If Kevin Keegan took over this fucking squad tomorrow, we would compete for all the domestic trophies & do a similar topsy turvy job. Mancini would do this or better. So would Benitez or any **** with any half decent managerial ability.

Pellegrini has showed us once this season, what he can do with tactics & nous, away at Seville. That was management, top class, management. The rest of the time, thiis season Harry fucking Redknapp could have done exactly the same job, & we wouldn't be any worse off, at all.

He has at his disposal, some of the best players ever to play in this country. We SHOULD be competing for every trophy, under any manager who comes here. The great manager, should now have us running clear at te top of the league, based on the fixtures we have played. Our loss at Spurs was a fucking disgrace as was the stupidity of allowing a Juve team who came for a draw, score 2 goals without even having to take a risk, to do it.

Any **** could have City where they are now. What he should be doing, is pulling unexpected results out of the bag, not getting fucking hammered unexpectedly.

Absolutely bang on.

I don't wish to offend or upset anyone, but in my humble opinion, any average Premier League manager could get this squad of players in to the top 4 of this league.

A top manager really should be very confident of winning the league with this squad.

Apologies if that has offended anyone, certainly not my intention, just my honest opinion.

top post. just the way I see it as well.

As many have said the way City are set up off the field and with some of the best talent on it, any half decent coach should be able to win a league every other year. That is indeed what has happened. Neither Mancini nor Pellegrini are up there with the great managers. Mancini did a good job of getting the club to believe. His aggressive personality got under the skin of his managerial rivals. He changed the psyche of the club. No mean feat in my view. He also took about five minutes to organize the defence which had been so porous under Hughes. But he had his limitations in terms of the creative side of the game and like Mourinho his abrasive style has a wear and tear factor on a club's staff.

Pellegrini came in and changed the bad atmosphere releasing the players from a tactical straitjacket. However it is debatable whether we have improved since then despite further spending. His seeming lack of interest in setting up the team to face what is in front of us is a deep flaw.

This team will not be remembered as a great premier league team. Exciting often, brilliant at times, but strangely passive on occasions. We have had the players. Kun, Yaya, Silva and Vincent are up there with Vieira, Henry, Vidic, Zola, Gerrard and Lampard. And the fact that they have been ably assisted by the likes of Hart, Zabaleta, Dzeko, Milner, Clichy, Fernandinho and Tevez suggests to me that we in danger of underperforming.

We have won two leagues on the last day of the season. We need to be winning a few like United, Chelsea and Arsenal have done in the past. Easily. Then this group of players will rightfully take their place alongside the Arsenal Invincibles. For me that wouldn't have happened had Mancini stayed and it's not going to happen with Pellegrini at the helm.

Well this is what flummoxed me! We were getting mullered in midfield but Aguero and KDB were just running from side to side along the half way line and not helping. Gary Neville kept pointing this out, the fans could see it and probably everyone else and even Pellegrini can't have failed to see it, but Pelletrini just sat there as cold and as grey as the skies above and did nothing which was so reminiscent of Bayern at home 2 years ago.

Perhaps it was just like Gary Neville said in his recent Podcast where he surmised that rather than damage squad morale by hooking off players midway through the first half, Pellegrini looked at the bigger picture and thought maintaining squad morale for the rest of the season would be more beneficial in the long-term than doing what was obviously necessary to rescue this match and risk damaging it.

I suppose there's a moral in there somewhere, but for me it doesn't detract from the fact that many fans had a feeling of impending doom from the moment the team sheet was read out. The mistakes were made before we'd even stepped onto the pitch and unfortunately, we reaped what we sowed.

I go to home and away games on a supporters coach from Monton. Its amazing the groans of disapproval when the team is read out on the coach and how often those groans of disapproval are followed by the team struggling like fuck. How often has a spark of genius from one of our brilliant players saved manuel and his sorry arse team selections and tactics. The game against Liverpool was a humiliation. a humiliation rarely if ever dealt out to a squad that finish as champions.

It was a performance that has changed a few minds and opinions on the manager, mine included and whilst I'm still not in the i want him gone camp, he needs to get his shit sorted and together and fast.

I want that Sevilla performance every week. Pace, pressing, intensity, it really did have it all and the days of possession for possession sakes or our best over 50's walking football impersonation have to go as it does nothing for the vast majority of us and given the way the opposition are now coming at us every week, will do nothing for results either.

Pellegrini has it in him, he showed us that but its down to him to do it and it starts the next game and it needs to carry on.

The very best teams work just as hard off the ball as they do on it. Nothing happens by luck, its down to sheer hard work coupled with the obvious talent and skill but right now, we just don seem to want to work hard enough.

He never does it consistently though, for every Sevilla performance there's a Liverpool , Norwich, Newcastle, Tottenham performance just round the corner, he should be playing a 3 in midfield as his stock formation and rotate players round it, expecting Yaya and Fernando in a two to press and control a midfield against a Liverpool front six is fucking footballing suicide, not just v Liverpool but ANY team.

He cant be trusted with the players he's got at his disposal, he's nowhere near good enough I'm afraid.

Neither Mancini nor Pellegrini are up there with the great managers.

True, I think the media often take our success for granted because we've had some great players and tend to forget that we have won 2 Premier League titles, 1 FA Cup and 1 League Cup without ever recruiting an elite manager. I think Mancio and Pelle are both good managers but you can't compare that with what Chelsea have had with the likes of Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti as their manager. If we manage to capture Guardiola, combined with the world class players we have (Kompany, De Bruyne, Silva, Aguero etc.) then we could move onto another level.
