I agree. I like the man but feel that at this point we need a caretaker if Pep is nailed on, otherwise if things continue as they are we could end up in the Europa next season. Shame Viera has gone.

We could also win at least a domestic double. Personally I think winning a domestic double is FAR FAR more likely than ending up in the Europa league next season. I'm also happy to bookmark this post so we can come back and revisit in May as I have done every season for the last 2 in terms of proclamations in the Autumn/Winter about our supposed slide out of the top 4. It's always good for a laugh!

Would love to know whose decision it was to have only three strikers , in reality only one striker , because he doesn't class Kelechi as a striker and the other one doesn't like running about . If it's the manager then he has created his own problems , if it's Tixi then he has hung the manager out .

This and who the hell decided to pay 70 mill for Mangala and Otamendi and anything for Fernando.

Open training session gives it away. You couldn't find a manager who keeps his cards closer to his chest than Pellegrini. Gives away very little.

I thought he should have gone last season. The criticism he's getting now is a bit unfair. "Old and confused." That's a bit below the belt. He's probably a lot smarter than most.

Otamendi is exceptional. Back end of last season Kompany couldn't get his place back given the form of Mangala.

It has to be pointed out that at Stoke we had Demichelis in defence, who shouldn't be playing at this level now. He's a squad player who can come on for League Cup games etc and for last 20 mins etc. And we have Bony who is having the worst spell of his career whilst SIlva has just come back and not at full power yet. Results will slip

Liverpool were really good at City. Lost Coutinho and were rubbish at Newcastle. That's the impact of one player (and maybe extra motivation)

I think if we manage to get a fully fit squad we'd walk the league. The problem is injuries have taken their toll, we can't rest players, so the likes of Sagna, Fernandinho, Sterling and De Bruyne have been run into the ground.

Given Pelle saying that Vinnie's absence is not a factor in our problems, despite the stats. I wonder if there has been a falling-out? Perhaps over the Belgian matches?

Hang on mate, you joined today and then you say Mark Hughes 'Knew how to get his side to defend'?
Hmmm.....because Mark Hughes definitely could not get us to defend!

What games did you go to ? Hughes did get our defence sorted ..he bought Kompany in! Problem he had was he drew too many games. Better football under him than Pelligrini the clueless! What does it matter when I joined ..thought I would get some decent feedback without some rag harping on about city's gates. Is this a forum about people's views on city or not? My view is Hughes was better than Pelligrini. Pelligrini is like Alan Ball ..clueless. I've supported City over 40 years and seen a lot of dross pass through the club ..managers players. Hughes did a decent job and just before his sacking we started to play some good football. Pelligrini inherited Mancinis team and De Bruyne apart his signings have been poor...my views !

The only reason he is still in employment is because the candidate chosen to replace him is not yet available.Pellegrini isnt geting the best out of this squad, yes injuries and individual form have been an issue.......however,he really does himself or us no favours......as his tactics and player selection is bizarre and very often predictable, his refusal to genuinely involve youth is also infuriating as that could quite easily have gone a long way to easing our current problems, also,on a personal note......i find the man incredibly boring and one dimensional,so unless that is all an act for the wider audience.......i struggle to comprehend how he inspires and motivates his players to the level thats required. Saying all that.......i dont dislike the man as he seems a genuinely decent fella, just one who now appears out of ideas and out of his depth - its a thanks but no thanks situation for me.

Spot on ! That's exactly what I think about him clueless! His constant messing with a winning side cost us two trophies last season and he will do it again this season ..in 4 competitions and what's the betting we will go out at home to a championship side because he's picked wrong team again...sound familiar? ...did it last year!

Apparently we don't have a defensive crisis and can cope without Kompany.
What next, Bony is better than Kelechi.....

Keegan had more tactically nous.

Or he could come out and say we are in the shit defensively due to injuries and are desperately missing the Captains presence.

Of course you would welcome that honesty and wouldn't dream of using it against him eh?
