Deserves all the credit for a great performance, the way he set the defence out to play so badly and ship 2 soft goals In the first half, and then be able to turn it around to win at home against the worst team in the group, with 2 19 year olds in defence, was impressive.

I can imagine Pellegrini in training, in his pre match words he specifically asks players not to track runners.

As one poster has posted out, we need to push up, close the pitch, do our damage in their half. If the team aren't confident and drop off deeper, it allows acres for opposition players to run in to. If you are playing Silva, Ya Ya and De Bruyne, that generally leaves us out numbered by runners. Delph and Fernandinho are as energetic as any midfielders about, yet we were conceding ground to runners from deep.

I have maintained, City's stregnths are what we should play to. If we sit deep to avoid the direct ball, it takes away so much of what we're good at. High lines concede goals, but last night was much more like City and evey player looked more comfortable.

You can't argue with fans who say we're not suited to the high press, as we don't have the players who can press that high. Well we can be, but it means leaving De Bruyne and Silva out. See Seville away. Equally we are not suited to sitting deeper, that allows other teams to run through us.

What suits City, more importantly what suits our best players, Ya Ya & Silva playing in the final third. Our quality is dominating possession, that's why Nasri is so essential yet so under rated.

Guardiola will find the same thing when he comes, the Premier league will catch teams out, any team who plays a high line. But you have to take that chance.

Second half last night is what we're good at. Full backs on, Silva and Ya Ya pulling the strings, Sterling and Navas providing width and in turn space for the aforementioned.

We can play effectively either way. We sat deep against Seville away and played very well. Second half yesterday we played high line very well. First half we did neither. The defence were deep but the midfield didn't drop back in front of them and we left the front 3 forward, this left huge spaces between our lines for BM to exploit.

To me it depends on who we have available as we need to play to the strengths of the players we have. If we have Demichelis and Fernando playing, a high line is problematic due to their lack of pace and mobility but we can get away with it with more mobile players like Delph and Fernandinho and with defenders with more pace like Mangala and Kompany.

Sat deep or a high press, it matters not if the players are not fully focused and willing to do their jobs!

Fist half last night is a prime example as was Stoke.

Second half they switched on and hey presto!

We have a group of players who can beat any one they want if they can be bothered to just put the hard yards in.

Its quite obvious from your last couple of posts on here that fuck all would please you more that to be a "told you so". We have had a great night of European football, rode our luck at times and come out on top. In Europe (and in particularly being in the group of death), that hasn't happened through luck. You are a miserable twat and coming on here after a night like last night just singles you out as being one.

You probably cringe when you ejaculate
Who are you mate? I'm am meant to be arsed by you giving it the big one? I am more than happy to top the group I'd be happier still if I felt our manager would take advantage of the situation. My dislike of his management is matched by your love of it. Let's see what happens over the season and maybe one of us will end up looking daft?

Afraid you have won that race already

Eh? End of the season will answer a lot of questions and vindicate a lot of opinions. That isn't digging it's fact. Did we win a trophy last night? Oh no, so let's not get carried away. Would you and your girlfriends on here be happy if I changed my opinion to yours just because we won a game?

Your tears taste delicious.
