Ditching Sky

I have finalkly cancelled sky and looking at a box via a guy on facebook.

https://www.facebook.com/Sky-TV-Steve-301871163534862/

Any thoughts on if this is legit? He is saying it has the new sky q interface. Its £190 for the box, but just worried as nothing ive seen before have the actual sky menu's / interface. It will be just my luck to get a bogus site.

I'm a bit guilty of not staying updated of our great sat providers products and services, but as I see it he is offering.

Cardshare with a linux box different selling technique. Sky Q is the rage gets your attention.

streaming your STB across your own network is very old hat, built in apps do it in certain images (free 3rd party ones do it better) and i think i paid a full £5 for a lifetime enigma tv app membership when i got my first VU+

1 channel etc have been available for years via TS media for streaming media/box sets/movies

If he is doing it anywhere near HD (720p) its IPTV or a cable share. both good.

Quite a few people I know have got them from https://www.facebook.com/sattechuk1/

I have been toying with the idea myself but need to speak to Virgin 1st to see how much i'll save once i get rid of tv

This is who we got our box from. They have been excellent. Even helping with set up via pm, any problems you have, they are quick to message you back and help you through them.

Hopefully one of the tech gurus on here can answer this question.

I recently bought an Openbox with 'gift' and its all set up and running great. I have cancelled Sky apart from the basic TV package so we can keep the box for recording TV. Obviously the lead into LNB1 on the sky box is now plugged into the openbox and the LNB2 lead is still in the LNB2 socket on the sky box. I am now not getting any picture from the sky box, I switched the LNB2 lead from the LNB2 socket to the LNB1 socket but still a black screen when I switch to the sky box.

Any help would appreciated as the missus is pecking my head to record some programmes

Was gonna say about the fb ones, they seem to be right in the sights of LEA going of recent busts.

The sky one. Pretty much just plug and play.
Cheers, I have sky on a good deal but it runs out in Jan so thinking of buying quite soon, Are most things In HD? Is absolutely everything already set up like epg etc? Did u get the iptv add on at all and if so how is it for football /movies? I only have sky standard broadband running at 10mb so do you reckon that would be fine or an upgrade to fibre needed? Apologies for all the questions pal but I'm not very tech minded and dubious about such things as I was conned with a supposed chipped sky card years ago haha, thanks

Cancelled everything from sky apart from the broadband. I have the freesat stuff with record function , line rental, and unlimited broadband. £17 per month.
Got myself a zgemma h2s and a £12 per year sub.
Gone from £90 per month to £17 in one swoop.

Just need to sort my footy on blue moon build on kodi. Struggling to get good streams.
