Tomorrow my contract ends and I can seek alternatives. The broadband is fantastic though so I will probably renew that, ditch the phone and the TV.
My question is what are the cheaper alternatives?
Does xbmc have live tv like the kids channels? If so I could get a couple of chromecasts with that installed on it.
Aren't there some boxes that stream content via the internet?
PM if necessary, I know some of these alternatives can be somewhat borderline illegal!

I'm thinking about switching to Virgin Media, i'm on BT Infinity atm but my contract has run out so i'm a free agent to talk to others.

No provider is perfect but BT are so far away from the ballpark that Virgin are in, they'd need a very large telescope to see it.

We have recently signed up with Sky for TV, phone and internet, just had TV previously.

Very happy so far, excellent service and saved around £30pm.

Was with BT before for the phone.

Just my 2p.

Well i am paying 52 a month at the moment and that is just for tv line and top end broadband, they have offered me a new two year contract charging 45 a month, just piss me off how new customers get offered everything and they never look after existing customers, not sure what i would get for that money on Virgin but i get i would get a few tv channels as well.

I tried to ditch the landline and TV but comes with the broadband it's more expensive to have broadband on its own
That was my experience anyway

My mate reckons kryptview k780 is ok, but I wouldn't know :)

Does your mate know if these will work just via the internet or do they need a connected cable feed?
If they do need a feed then either a) you'd need to be on the basic package just so you have a live feed to utilize or b) a mate with a special key to reconnect the cable in the local DP (exchange).

I had Virgin media for internet. BT for the phone, and Sky for the TV. Moved everything over to SKY and saving £40 per month on what I used to pay, even with the addition of Multi room

But how fast is your broadband? The high speed (and very high reliability) of Virgin is what keeps me with them even though the tw@ts have never given a decent deal to existing customers nor did they have a decent phone on offer through their mobile package last time I changed contracts.
