Dixon leaves BBC

Great, I guess that means we just get more Post-Game Commentary from Hansen and Shearer, since they don't actually analyse.

Something to do with this maybe?

Probably tired of having to listen to those three babbling morons talk all that shite while he tries to say something interesting.
Interesting spot on that video.

Not really, Dixon was floundering like a wet fish, if anything, Shearer should've butted in earlier to put him out of his misery!

Not sure if he's pissed off with Shearer or Lineker's question. Or something dodgy in his earpiece perhaps?

I thought Dixon was very in depth most times and I like his punditry, especially on defending and positioning, sometimes it felt like I learnt something. On this occasion though he was carrying on about feck all and stating the obvious, so maybe he was caught off guard.

As for people laughing at City on MOTD I don't notice it. There has been a running gag and laughing at Spurs for about 8 years on MOTD between Lawro and Hansen. I'm surprised people take it so personally, I don't, who gives a fuck really?!

MOTD isn't really about analysis. Its just a highlights show, to try and fit in all the best bits of action in a space of time, including some comments on the games. If you're expecting indepth analysis like you do on Sky, you're going to be disappointed. You're never going to get a good impression of how the team or certain individuals played from MOTD. It is what it is, and it surprises me how personally some people take it.

I don't expect in depth analysis, but when Hansen is paid £45k a week to tell me what I can clearly see on screen, I want a little more.

I think that's why Dixon's off, he tried to overdo it perhaps. He'd be better suited to Sky somewhere along the line.

It's criminal that Hansen can get 4m a year for stating the obvious

I've got over 7 years of MOTD backed up on computer, not sure why because it's horse shit.

He's paid that much?! My word.

Well bless, it's been knocked down to 20k a week now.

He is still an odious wanker and i thing they both (Lawrenson, Hanson) need replacing.
I dread the misserable cnuts analyzing a match when i should be interested.

What planet are you on? Lawrenson certainly does.

Sad to see Lee leave - probably the best pundit the beeb have - still the rumour is that he is leaving to front BT's football coverage from season 2013-2014 onwards.
Lawrenson predicted us to win all but one game in the whole of last season. He rarely has anything negative to say about City.

He obviously doesn't like Mario, but as far as the club goes he's fine.
People are very very sensitive on here when its comes to pundits talking about City.

Agreed people on blue moon generally are very very very sensitive about city stuff sometimes its warranted but other times not
the posters that have said MOTD is just a highlights show have got it dead right Dixon was the best presenter on there so it can only be good for him he's found something better to do with his talent the paradox for me is sometimes our own match reports and commentary's are ( rightly) much more critical but that never seems to set a trail on blue moon
