Do City currently have a 'style'?

Or do we merely mimic our opponents?

For example, we stuff the Gooners, both teams playing football, then struggle against the cloggers, while playing like they do.

You don't see the top clubs deviating from their style unless its to urgently get a job done.

I think everyone agrees, that when city get it down, we can do the business, see Pompey, Arsenal, Hull games. Why should WBA stop City doing this? And I'm not on about them booting our chaps to stop em either. Sometimes it seems that they just forget what we all know they're capable of.

we need to stop worrying about other teams and start letting them worry about us
play our game unless its absolutely neccessary to change

Thats the point. We seem to be reactionary rather than proactive at the minute.

The style seems to be this:

'Send them out to play. Hope that some of the numerous quality players we have turn it on. If this doesn't happen, meaning that some actually managerial nous and tactical input is required, spend all match hoofing it to one of the smallest sets of forwards in the league until one day, one day sometime in the future, the management might actually decide to tell them that this doesn't work, will never work and is a really shit style of hoofball to watch for 3 games out of every 4.'

The general criticism of the Arse when they fail to win is that they dont have a plan B. The style has to begin with players able to perform to a flexible plan. Starting with the GK - he has to instill confidence in the back four, who have to be thoroughly organised with a central defender or two central defenders who are masters of the air and can play the ball on the ground. A defensive and attacking midfield with the lungs and capacity of CBell, capped with a couple of strikers who can score when the plan with all its flexibility is not bringing in the bacon. We havent got the set of players yet who could perform to this flexible plan. Hopefully, by Feb we will be a little nearer.

Our style is -

At home we play the ball along the floor and try to cut teams down and then every now and agen do a long ball, and then have some belief we can win the game no matter the oppenent

Away from home we play the long ball 99% of the game, pass it backwards more times than salford reds in a season and do not believe we can win the game and intend of playing for a point after 20 minutes of the game no matter who the opposition is
