Do the red scouse want it more than us?

I don't think wanting it more is the case. But I do feel that Liverpool having a strong English contingency helps with the drive and drags the foreign lads along with the thrill and passion of it all. They know how to mix it up with what it takes to win away against the lesser teams.

I know not our best players but when we won it- Barry, Lescott, Richards along with Milner, Hart were heavily involved! And maybe just maybe that helped.

I don't think they want it more, but their 100 mile an hour starts and constant top-pace attacks makes it look like they do.
Our more considered, more skill-based approach doesn't have fans jumping up and down like loonies for 90 minutes apart from at selected away games.
And they all seem to be singing from the same media produced hymn sheet this season. They've over-achieved so everybody is happy. - Remember, we were chasing four pots while they were in just one.
And if you think we can't be arsed because we're tired, well we've played a third of a season on top of what they've played.

More Bluemoon introspection just what we need

Self flagellation is the name of the game on bluemoon these days. Everything about the club is rotten to the core. Fans, manager, players, doctors...everyone.

Everything about our club is growing and blossoming, yet this place has become overrun with whinging plums.
Dave, I'm amazed you don't find some of the atmospheres we've had this season worrying. We have been challenging for a title and it has been like a morgue at times. People can turn up late, go home early, sit in total silence, whatever, they have paid for their tickets they can do what they like. But it doesn't help the team at all when it's quiet and a noisy crowd can help drag teams through difficult moments. Anyway we've agreed with each other before that it isn't the supporters job to just blindly praise everything but to raise concerns if they have them so I'm not really sure what your gripe is.

That the atmosphere has been very flat at times is undeniable but the fact that we've only dropped 5 points at home means that this really hasn't got anything to do with why we are not going to win the league.

No gripe with you lancet, I respect you, and it has been quiet at times, but that's just how it is in modern football. It won't be fully rectified until they stick the two singing ends together. Last night was pretty noisy at times but the first 20 minutes were dogged with two ends singing two songs constantly. It's never been the cauldron of noise some say, but we get up for it as a crowd when necessary. It doesn't mean city have shit fans, or have become overrun with day trippers, or don't care, or all the other stuff I keep reading. It's just been a bit of a nervy, stop start season and the fans have reflected that at times.

It's not just that in isolation, though, it just seems that everyone on here has a gripe at the moment, and everyone is pointing the finger of blame at everyone else. I've read this week that our players aren't committed enough, that we don't have winner or leaders, I've read that the manager cost us the title, that the captain cost us the title, that our set pieces cost us the title, that our players aren't hungry, our fans don't care, we need to ship out half the squad, get rid of our Director of Football. Everything.

It's all shite. The club is healthier than it's ever been. But you come on here and everyone's riddled with self-doubt, a lack of confidence, introspection, self fucking loathing. 'Do Liverpool want this more than us'? My fucking arse. Go and tell zab or vinny or joe or Silva or the rest of the squad that that's the case. It's just hyperbole, media shite. It isn't about "wanting it", it's about having the ability and professionalism to see the job through. And riding your luck, as Liverpool have for weeks now.

I'd reckon they do. I thought our players would be right up for it against Sunderland and West Brom, but they just appeared flat. Don't know what's going on, but there's no sense of urgency about us, and when Silva went off the other night we were just awful. It's all a bit strange.

Yes the crushing defeat to West Brom really set us back!

What the hell is going on! We beat them 3-1, what more do you want?
Oh, for fuck sake. So it IS all about the result then? Personally I'd expect a team who are in a fight for the league title to show more.

Good post. I feel a little embarrassed about that. But I think its better to state what you think, see what the reaction is, and adjust your thoughts accordingly. You might put people off posting if they feel everything they say is getting measured and weighed.

The Liverpool players definitely want it more than ours. The fans?..no chance. I'm desperate for us to win it as are all the blues I know.

I know i and all other fellow blues want this title badly but i have to admit, them scousers are making more noise than us- i am of the opinion that if the grounds bouncing its an extra lift for the players - for everyone really and can definately unnerve the opposition a bit.

Them scousers are singing their bollocks off at the moment, hopefully they'll shut the fuck up and quiet down very very soon.

Liverpool's belief that their wait for a Premiership title is coming to an end comes from their team topping it for a good while. We have not been in that position enough this season for the fans to truly believe it's happening. We've also been focussing on other competitions eg League Cup, FA Cup and Champions League
