Do we give too many free kicks away on the edge of our area?

Certainly we do .....

the likes of Gareth Barry and Micah Richards have always been culprits ,and now we have the likes of Nastasic joining them ...... the one he gave away for Villas 2nd goal today was both needless and thoughtless , and handed a totally outplayed Villa all the incentive they needed to go on and win the game.

It also wasn't a foul. It's football not basketball for Christ's sake.
Of course it was a foul. It was similar to the one we got against Hull (foul on Nasri, IIRC). If it happened up the other end, you'd have been screaming for a free kick. We all would have.

Sad state of affairs if that's what the game's come to if that was a foul.

Yes. Whether or not it was a free kick or not yesterday, one of Nastasic's weaknesses I've noticed is he dives into challenges too much occasionally.

Why doesnt hart put a player on the post at free kicks when its obvious the guy taking it is gonna curl it over the wall ?.Nastybitch needs to cut out needless free kicks its crept into his game.

Because if there is an outfield player on the goal-line, it plays everybody onside.

It's different at corners, where you can't be offside anyway.

Yes , and Nasty is the main culprit .Got lots of promise . Not good enough yet to be the 2nd CB
He is. He just needs to iron out a few things. Kompany had a worse game than him yesterday; at fault for all three goals (the Nastasić foul was given away after Kompny put in a sissy effort of a tackle and left Nasta' having to do something as he had two Villa players to deal with - and give the foul away was it).

Always.

Make needless challenges when we don't need to.

Surely you'd think we'll be a bit cautious against Everton, and realise the threat in Leighton Baines right...

Just how many of these free kicks are fouls? Too many players these days, talentless, skill-less, clueless and versed in training ground dirty tricks, realise that their only hope of getting a goal is to fall over in any area from where a ball can be delivered within scoring distance of our goal and rely on the wanker with the whistle or the lino with the implement for anal insertion flying to their assistance!

It was one of Zab's tricks very early on in his City career but he seems to have curtailed the rash challenge. Others need to heed his expertise and not give refs a chance to balls up an afternoon.
