Do we play good football?

For me this season been even worse than last and even though I wanted pellegrini out, the football doesn't even come close to that which we played in his first season. Want pep to be a success, but continually picking Clichy at left back, buying bravo and looking to force Aguero out does leave me a bit worried. Same with yaya who has been our best CM since his return. How do we replace him because Fernandinho looks like he has totally gone and none of the others good enough.

We have to also make it 2-0 to avoid the shit equalizer.

The goal Jesus scored on Sunday, was different to pretty much anything else all season & suggests a bigger threat to bus parkers. Personally, I think Unal could possibly be another asset in that respect, if we choose to try him.
Is Unal even going to be an option next season? I thought there are still significant work permit issues.

This season is transitional football. Pep has been assessing what we've got and has realised that Zaba, Sagna, Clichy and Kolarov are not up to the job. He has tried to use the pace of Navas and Clichy to fit into his style of football but it hasn't worked. He has realised Kolarov is a liability at left back but was necessary as a 5th centre half whilst Vinny was out. All four full backs will be gone, together with Navas, Nasri, Hart, possibly Otamendi, Mangala and no doubt others. I can see midfield replacements coming in too, although he will no doubt give Gundogan an opportunity to prove his fitness. Next season will be very exciting, full backs / wing backs that can attack and defend will make a huge difference to our style of play. We will press teams into submission and I can see a very exciting season ahead. Our young attacking midfielders / forwards will understand their role better and will execute Pep's plans. Should be a goal bonanza next season.

Sense stated at last

I think our football this season is worse than last season's. It is just boring as fuck, having a lot of possession is great but if you don't do anything with it, I might as well watch paint dry. I really hope that when we have proper fullbacks that work with Pep's system this will all be a bad memory.

As it stands we sometimes played better, more exciting football under Erikson and Mancini.

Which stuff?

Some seem to not realise that Pep can only choose what he has available at present in terms the squad. The big issue is that the majority are aged and not good enough. Everyone has the right to put their point across which i understand, but to not realise that Pep understands what needs to be changed, he categorically stated earlier in the season that this team would have ups and downs and that he could not get his team in one window, the phrase you can't change 7 players at one time or something along those lines was used i think. Failing to actually convert chances has been a major flaw this season as well

The owners understand this and will back him this summer

Whilst I don't disagree with what you have posted it also needs to be acknowledged that Txiki took up his post in October 2012 and he has been (supposedly) preparing the way for Pep since then.

Pep would have known many months (if not years) in advance about joining City and would have influenced the transfer decisions. Few managers have ever had so much support in joining a new club.

We also need to acknowledge that some of his tactical decisions e.g. playing the high line against Leicester, were simply ludicrous.
