While American citizens go hungry, sleep rough and die of illnesses they can't afford to cure, Israel receives a minimum of $3 billion from washington. What justifies this? I know that Israel is in a strategic position that is advantageous if Iran ever decides to become aggressive, but do they really need so much money? Also, what exactly do they spend it on?

I'll probably be accused of being anti semitic, but those who know me in person will know that i am not. It's a legitimate question, and hopefully will be debated well, like the days before threads are pulled because of misunderstandings and overzealous moderating.
