Do we really need a manager at all?

Seeing as how in some peoples eyes a manager isn't responsible for results, performances, tactics, tempo, coaching, motivation, man management, direction, injury management, selection, substitutions etc why don't we dispense with the position.

I think we can all agree that Hughes has been pretty good in the transfer market, particular when we give him credit for all the good signings, and blame someone else for all the bad ones. So lets put him in as director of football, and the side can pretty much coach itself.

On a side note, I think Sven must have been a lot better at his job tht I gave him credit for. Surely anyone that can coach "his dross" to 9th in the league must have something going for him.

Sven must be a bleeding football genius as he managed to get that dross to 9th. Unlike hughes thats spent another 80+ million and took us to 18th 3 points above WBA that just beat us and are rock bottom.
