I'd be happy if England did well, but they'll only do well if they ditch the Shrek must play, Dippers must play and Arses must play approach.
However, I can't see me celebrating an England goal or victory with anywhere near the same enthusiasm as I do when City score or win.

I started to lose interest after the shambolic 2010 World Cup but after the equally shambolic 2014 World Cup and Hodgson's continued tenure I gave up on England completely. I didn't watch a minute of Euro 2016 and felt all the better for it. Apart from the total mismanagement of the side by various recent managers and the gross incompetence of the FA there's the baffling selection of players who are shite like Rooney plus any who flit, however briefly, through the rags. Cleverley and Jones are prime examples but now it's Lingard and who can forget Zaha getting capped 5 minutes after signing for the rags then getting immediately dropped when he was loaned back to Palace? Phil Neville (59 caps) and Butt (39 caps) are two more who should never have been anywhere near an England shirt.

The indifference of the managers never mind the players made it obvious to me that they were collectively not been trying for some time.
I suppose that my frustration at their apathy made me realise that if they cannot be bothered why should I.
I suppose in their defense they are normally playing with world class players around them so when a team of just English are expected to perform they are found out for what they are with very few at world class level. Why they dont make up for this class difference with more energy and passion like other UK teams defeats me but thats England I´m sorry to say.
