Whether we win, lose or draw I think we need to look at the wider picture. I think the great sign of progress is that there is actually something on the line, United's title challenge and City's fourth spot challenge and this match could have serious implications either way if either side is victorious over the other.

But the wider picture is that sooner or later we are going to either match or even surpass a club largely respected as the most successful English club in the past decade. We have an exciting crop of young talent and an experienced bunch of players coming into their peak and the blend is brilliant.

We have beat them once, been cheated out a victory once and were unlucky to lose the other in the last minute but they know that slowly but surely we're creeping up right behind them and breathing right down their neck. I think we're going to challenge for the title next season, especially if we finish fourth this season.

It's an exciting time to be a blue and a depressing time to be a rag. We've got loads of money, we're in stupidly good form and they couldn't even score against a poor Blackburn team! They're the biggest one man team going and if we don't face Wayne Rooney I am expecting a positive result.

I love this club, I love the direction where we're heading and I've got that Derby Day feeling buzz on a Tuesday. Bring it on and lets cheer the blue boys onto an infamous victory!
