When TPE goes to an "operator of last resort" that says it can only get good service back by reverting to previous arrangements for rest day working to cover driver training, what then? If the government blocks it, the problem's not solved.

Indeed.

Harper was quick to already scapegoat ASLEF when he made the statement from the dispatch box in parliament. They won't pay out. They want drivers to be paid on minimum wage "apprenticeship" for 3 years with staggered rise for another two after upto a £29,000. A huge pay cut.

They believe that's the "fair rate"
 
easy way to "fix" time table issues - just cancel trains........ not like they are a train company or something


Something that concerns me in our "management" contract train services can be replaced by buses with little or no notice to "maintain performance."

This has happened today with what looks like a nice bung to Stagecoach group to cover a few "services" blaming "staff shortages"
