Do you think the Trafford centre will last 20 more years?

I thought from the start it was designed as a hideous Temple to Consumerism and my god does it ever fulfil that

An empty field on a road that served no-one, all the factories having shut down. Countless decent jobs gone. The T.C. was , and is, the only place to reverse the decline. It also broke the monopoly of the city centre.
The future is pretty unknowable, hardly worth a guess. Should it close, much will be the jubilation of it's enemies on BM, even though they never go there ???

Not in its current state. I think I've been twice in the last decade and both were for specific reasons with other people where it was an in and out job. They've already been transitioning towards this for a while now but they'll be forced into turning it from a shopping centre into an entertainment centre. You might get a handful of shops that synergies with that dynamic but the majority of the space will be experiences, entertainment and eating out. People go out to city centres and places like this do things now not buy things.

This is what I said a few weeks back. I think the lower floor will be shops but a change of demographic to focusing on middle to higher end places. The top floor will become entertainment, bars and restaurants.
