Is it 'about' anything\??

The Bridge

People suffer largely unnoticed while the rest of the world goes about its business. This is a documentary exploration of the mythic beauty of the Golden Gate Bridge, the most popular suicide destination in the world, and those drawn by its call. Steel and his crew filmed the bridge during daylight hours from two separate locations for all of 2004, recording most of the two dozen deaths in that year (and preventing several others). They also taped interviews with friends, families and witnesses, who recount in sorrowful detail stories of struggles with depression, substance abuse and mental illness. Raises questions about suicide, mental illness and civic responsibility as well as the filmmaker's relationship to his fraught and complicated material

I saw this one a few weeks ago on more4- really enjoyed it, but very sad in parts. Particulary as San Fran is one of my favourite destinations in the world and I have regulary driven, walked and cycled across it.

Is it literally just a collection of humans doing everyday stuff set to music? Is this one of those things which makes my role in life seem redundant and futile?

I saw this myself a couple of years ago and then repeated recently. Suffering from mental illness myself and having been suicidal in the past, I found it quite emotive which I suppose is what it set out to do.

It's all about you you you, eh?

Actually, it's more than that. And unless you're willing to explore it, rather than experience it, I'll just leave it at that. Take the plunge or give it a miss. Simple.

My goodness, I LOOOOVE documentary films, so this is just Manor From Heaven for me! Don't think I've seen this particular site, mind! As much as I love this stuff, I'm entirely mindful of the the point of view expressed. If I have questions, whilst watching, I know it's a partisan production.

Still, it's interesting seeing someone's version of 'truth'.

Forgot to mention, the veoh vids will only show you a 5 minute preview, you need to register to the site to watch the lot, just use a blag email.

some more-----> <a class="postlink" href="http://www.moviesfoundonline.com/documentaries.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.moviesfoundonline.com/documentaries.php</a>
