Does it matter if a player comes from our academy into the first team more than if we buy a player

Sitting on the train home after the Southampton game I got chatting to a fellow blue. I mentioned that i thought it was great that Foden got a run out at the end of the game and I hoped he would get a lot more starts. The other fella said it really didn't matter to him as long as we were winning. In a way i think he is right but for me I would prefer to win with at least some academy lads in the team. Just wondered what others thought?

It doesn’t matter but it is great when a little gem comes though the ranks and becomes established in the first team.

the tea lady can be in the team as long as we win,

i don't understand all this clamber for foden to start,he will start and play when the manager feels its the right time , pep sees more of him than anyone on bluemoon and has more footballing knowledge than most people in ? well in the football world.

Winning is first and foremost, academy lads are a nice bonus.
Don't see why this is even a debate.

I agree with the other fella on the train, it'd be nice when it happens but not worried about it.
