DOG OWNERS - Alabama Rot confirmed in the area

My dad was talking about this the other day his mates dog got a rash on its leg and was dead within 3 days, very sad.

Jeeze. I'm just letting people in the area know that it's about so that should their dog show any symptoms, e.g. leg rash, that it's best to get it checked straight away rather than think "I'll see how that is in a few days" - which is probably what most of us would normally do.

Actually it's more lesions by the look of it.

From Countryfile:

"Dog owners are advised to look out for wounds or lesions on the limbs or face of their dog, which will not heal. Affected dogs will also develop signs of severe depression, loss of appetite and vomiting, quickly accompanied by acute injury to the kidneys.

The notices tells owners they should take their dog to a vet even if the lesions appear a week after a walk."
