When my dog does a poo....why does he then turn round and sniff it?
When you pick it up have a sniff and see what the attraction is.henrythedogcity said:When my dog does a poo....why does he then turn round and sniff it?
Does the same apply to humans ? I mean should we all be copying dogs and doing the same check ? :-)SteSteez said:Your dogs pooh can tell you how healthy or ill the dog is with its actual colour and formation... sloppy bright pooh usually means your dog is feeling dicky.
Darkened hard pooh can mean your dog is feeling healthy.
This is what I was told by a Vet anyway.
So my logic is they smell their own poo which lets them know about issues such as their diet and health.
My dog ignores other dogs poo and always walks past, but will spend time smelling his own crap

lol. You need to learn to not pick it up. Dog's don't so why do you. Just sniff it like them. Probably same result that you need to stop drinking.BimboBob said:robsta said:Does the same apply to humans ? I mean should we all be copying dogs and doing the same check ? :-)
I do.
If it runs through my fingers when i pick it up then i know to stop drinking.

so then, after sniffing, your dog tells you that he/she needs a little more 'roughage' then?
is this in a sequence of 'barks' or actual real human syllables?
that's one clever dog you have there..
